Mexican Hipster Cuisine: La Fiesta in Linz

Sometimes you do not have to travel far to escape to a different culture, with different sounds and tastes. In this case, it took me 10 minutes to get to “La Fiesta”, a Mexican restaurant in my hometown Linz. #the #fuqing #mexican # hipster #cusine…

A black moustache invites hungry folks into the colourful premises of “La Fiesta”. Once you’ve climbed a couple of stairs – always accompanied by skulls and moustaches sprayed in black onto the white walls – you enter a little Mexican world in the middle of Linz in Upper Austria. The walls of each room shine in different colours, decorated with pictures, frames and mirrors in vivid colours as well as creative lamps make you feel cosy from the very first moment.

#Hashtag – Are you hungry?

You should definitely be hungry when visiting “La Fiesta”, as the menu offers just too many delicious meals and desserts. From yummy soups with tortillas, fresh salads to classic Mexican dishes like Enchiladas, Quesadillas and Chimichangas – we tried almost everything and complimented the chef with a round belly.

If you like it spicy you can ask for savoury sauces of various degrees: #wennszuscharf ist #krankenhausistumseck. What was that? In the menu you can find a number of #hashtags such as the one mentioned here, which basically means #ifitstoospicy #hospitalisaroundthecorner. I read the menu with a chuckle, it was fun going through the descriptions including chocolate chili sauce and vegan specialties. There is even a separated area for vegan dishes in the menu – my recommendation are “tacos de papa vegano”, a creative delight of crispy tortilla roles with potatoes garnished with chocolate chili sauce, salad and guacamole. Take the risk and try the exceptional combination of spicy and chocolate chili sauce – a completely new sensation for me!

Tequila for everybody

Just when we were finished with our generous dinner, we were offered tequila shots for free – tequila faces included J And even though we were longing for one of the suggested desserts like churros or platanos fritos, we were almost unable to move, still enjoying the aftermath of our food surrounded by salsa rhythms and international guests. The only downside, so to say … too full, to have dessert … anyway, one more reason to come back, I just have to try the churros at “La Fiesta”.
*** I have returned to “La Fiesta” and tried the Churros … they did not promise too much, it was as tasty as expected and as colourful as ever 🙂

Restaurant recommendation in Linz –
Mexico in a blink of the eye

“La Fiesta”, #the #fuqing #mexican #hipster #cusine is definitely worth trying out. The new Linz culinary delight – est. 2014 – offers lunch called “lonchera” or #lunchbox and a diverse dinner menu. Reserverations are recommended, colourful and international people welcome and empty belly’s required. Olé for the fiesta in the city of Linz.

One more thing: I did not get paid to write about „La Fiesta“, it is a personal recommendation for my hometown Linz.
